Bendigo South East College (BSEC) is a secondary school in Bendigo, Victoria, Australia.

History

The BSEC occupies a building originally known as the Bendigo Girls' High School. That institution had been founded in 1916, originally located in the Quarry Hill neighborhood of Bendigo but moving to the Flora Hill neighborhood in 1959.

In 1974, the school became co-educational, under the name Flora Hill Secondary College.

In 2008/2009 Flora Hill Secondary College and Golden Square Secondary College combined and was renamed Bendigo South East Secondary College.

As of 2010, a new building is underway. Upon its completion, the old class rooms from 1959 will be demolished. The last of the classrooms were demolished in August 2011. The school buildings should be complete by April 2012.

Golden Square Secondary College was closed at the end of 2008, and was demolished as of late 2009, the site is currentley vacant.

Ernie Fleming has been appointed principal for the next 5 years.

Uniform

A new uniform will be phased in over two years, 2008\2009 and the new uniform will be worn as of 2010. (2008\2009, children will continue to wear old school's uniform.)
